Foot Care

Your feet are sensitive if you have diabetes. You should avoid uncomfortable shoes or products such as talc or foot deodorants that could damage the skin without you noticing it. Here is some advice for keeping your feet healthy.

FOOT CHECKLIST

  • Socks are a must, preferably cotton or linen thread.
  • Never walk barefoot, even at home: use slippers or indoor shoes.
  • Wash your socks on at least 60°C as washing at high temperatures destroys bacteria formation.
  • Avoid socks made of synthetic material.
  • Don't warm your feet in front of a radiator, fireplace, on hot water bottles, cushions, blankets or heaters
  • Never overlook the calluses on your feet, use a pumice stone once a month.
  • Visit a podiatrist every 3 months.
